Before coming to Point Park, I was unsure of whether or not journalism was something I definitely wanted to pursue. Now, I not only know that, but I also know that this is my passion. Being in an atmosphere where everyone around you loves the same thing is incredibly welcoming. Everyone here has a passion for writing, and they are here to help you achieve your journalistic goals.

My top experience here was being able to walk around Point State Park and taking pictures of the city. I never had the opportunity to use such an amazing camera. I have always loved photography and found it inspiring and beautiful. To be able to experience a real photoshoot and learn how to use cameras was a dream.

Another highlight was watching a live filming of KDKA. I only watch the local news occasionally, but I watch it enough to recognize everyone that is normally on TV that we met. We had the opportunity to talk to Kristine and she gave us advice on how to make it in journalism. She told us that we need to have a passion and really want it, and I feel as if I do have that love for journalism.
